…could the end of the world be starting already? In Arkansas of all places? First thousands of dead fish…
State officials are investigating why thousands of fish washed up dead on the shores of the Arkansas River last week.
Officials are expected to release their estimate of the total number of dead fish Monday, local NBC station KARK 4 News reported. It is likely to be in the hundreds of thousands.
The fish were found Thursday by a tugboat operator along a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River near the city of Ozark.
And now thousands of birds falling from the sky?
BEEBE, Ark. — The carcasses of some of the nearly 2,000 red-winged blackbirds that inexplicably fell on an Arkansas town on New Year’s Eve night will be sent for testing to determine the cause of death.
The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission said the state Livestock and Poultry Commission Lab and the National Wildlife Health Center Lab in Madison, Wis., will examine the dead birds starting Monday.
Note to self: Avoid Arkansas.
